Casper's response was immediate, and it didn't take long to notice the frustrated edge his expression had adopted. Dubious, Iggy said nothing of the blue Inkling's change in demeanor. He certainly hadn't expected such a fervent reply - did Casper want him to refuse? Too baffled to manage much amusement, he lifted an eyebrow, countering simply, "I'm not accepting just anyone." Iggy eyed the other boy, wondering what it was he'd hoped to be told. Hesitating, he averted his eyes and added begrudgingly, "I may not have many options, but I still have standards."
Blinking, he looked back at Casper, met once again by that unflinchingly blunt nature of his. At least he was being honest - albeit irritatingly so. Iggy's frown deepened. "Experience isn't the only thing I care about. An amateur can learn, even if it takes longer - but you can't teach integrity."
Looking away as headlights flashed down the street, he leaned away from the street lamp and righted himself, lowering his arms to his sides. Iggy glanced back at Casper, paying the approaching bus no mind. "Do you still want to go? I won't hold you to it."

[attr="class","robot3"] [attr="class","robot"] Though he could sense he was beginning to get on Iggy's nerves again, he couldn't seem to stop himself. The frustration nagged at him relentlessly. He wasn't sure what sort of answer he'd been hoping for, but it certainly hadn't been that. What frustrated him even more was the fact that he didn't even know why he was frustrated to begin with. Surely the smart thing to do would have been to graciously accept the yellow Inkling's offer to help him improve - it was a shame he'd never been much of any good at that. [break][break] Even so, he wasn't quite as determined to argue with Iggy as he was to land himself a position on the team. Cas pushed the thought of the boy having ulterior motives from his mind. After all, what could someone gain by trying to train amateur Turf War players? He was probably just being genuine, as baffling a concept as it was. There would be time to find out Iggy's motives later on, when he didn't risk losing the last opportunity he had to get himself a team. [break][break] Stifling a sigh, he paid little mind as the bus drew near. After a moment of contemplation, Casper finally waved his hand and said, a wary way about him, "Yeah -- yeah, sorry." He narrowed his eyes, brow furrowing a bit. "That's just... a really weird thing to hear someone say." Forcing himself to push the last of the confusion from his mind, he lifted his face, allowing a moment to study Iggy's, as if searching for something. The seeking expression was gone as quickly as it had come, however, and abruptly his features lost their seriousness, replaced again with a more characteristic lightheartedness. He stood from the bench, folding his arms over his chest, and cast a smile the yellow Inkling's way. "Thanks for giving me a chance, though -- even if you are totally out of your mind." His smile broadened pointedly, some amusement upon his face now.
