[nospaces]
• rules and regulations
There's no need to stress out about following the rules indefinitely, so don't worry too much if you slip up every now and again, but try your best to keep 'em in mind and we shouldn't have any problems! Proboards mandates that all users must be at least 13 years old to join a forum, so if you're any younger than that, you may wanna steer clear of this site.
the basic rules
• Be sure that you've read all of the info before you go around asking a bunch of questions. Chances are we've already answered your question somewhere, but if we haven't, you're totally cool to shoot someone on staff a PM or post in the [Help Desk]!
• We're a one account per character site, so you'll have to register a new account for each character you create. You also need an out of character account for yourself. If you're not sure how to go about doing that, read through the [Guide].
• You can have as many characters as you want, but your applications must be approved before you can create new characters or role play them.
• If you're using someone else's art for your profiles, posting templates, applications, or pretty much anything, be sure you ask for permission first and credit the artist somewhere. We're running on a trust system here, so do the right thing!
• Please post in the [Notification Thread] when you're done with your character's application so we know to review it!
• Above all, have fun! Don't take things too seriously!
out of character rules
• Basically, just be nice. No one likes a jerkwad.
• Don't nag other members for posts or anything of the like.
• Keep things appropriate. This site is rated PG-13, so no linking to or discussing explicit or sensitive material - not even over PM. Proboards monitors that junk.
• Please, for the love of all that is good and holy, don't argue with staff, even if you think our decisions totally suck. It doesn't earn you any brownie points.
• Don't pester staff for updates, either. We'll get to things when we get to 'em!
• When it comes to making your character, bear in mind that they cannot have a personal relationship with any canon Splatoon characters such as DJ Octavio, Callie, Marie or Cap'n Cuttlefish! This could interfere with continuity, so we try to avoid these kinds of details.
IN CHARACTER rules
• Again, keep things appropriate! Swearing is permitted, but try to refrain from going overboard. Sexual content will need to be kept to a bare minimum - innuendos and references are allowed, but anything explicit is a definite no-no. Use the fade to black method. Finally, violence is allowed, but explicit descriptions of gore should be avoided.
• There's no word count requirement for posts here, so you can write as much or as little as you like - just try to give your partner(s) something to work with!
• No powerplaying. Basically, this means you're not allowed to control another person's character, so don't make them say or do anything without their owner's permission first. You also definitely aren't allowed to kill someone's character if you haven't been given their say-so.
• No godmodding. While it's perfectly alright to have a very skilled or powerful character, they can't be completely unstoppable. Your character needs to have weaknesses of some kind. That being said, your character isn't you, so they can't know everything you do. They're limited to their own knowledge and can't be aware of certain details about other characters or situations unless they've found out on their own.
