The moon was low in the sky above the pitch-black waters of Piranha Pit, and on a normal night the heavy machinery and conveyor belts the place was known for would be as dark and silent as the rest of Inkopolis. But this was not a normal night. Above the waters, a bedazzled silver disc hovered, spotlights shining bright to illuminate the black abyss in search of the only prey that mattered: The rare and illusive Zapfish! The UFO's pilot, the (inexicblicably) sunglass-wearing Octarian known as MC Soysauce kept his tentacles working the various levers and buttons that controlled his UFO, a scowl on his face. A dim green light shone on the bottom of his hovering command vehicle, which any veteran agent would identify as an Octarian tractor beam, ready to snag any of the powerful little electricity-machines that dared show their scales! The rest of the Octarian compliment (which included a few troopers and octocopters along with the Octolings) would be doing much of the same, shining lights into the waters to see if any Zapfish could be found. They were working quick, and all of them had to be on high alert, lest any agitating Agents rear their ugly, disgusting, horrible heads. ------------------------------------------------------------ The Agents, agitating they may be, would have gathered at the rendezvous just outside of Piranha Pit. The Inklings, undetected so far, would have time to plan their attack, hopefully catching the Octarians by surprise! But they would have to act soon, or else the Octarians would get their purple-y-kinda-magenta-y tentacles on more than enough Zapfish to fuel their army for years! Who knows what kind of havoc they could wreak with so much power at their disposal? TAGGED: Sheep ivory castell Carmilla jian @kyle heath Kayla

| is there a hero somewhere?
☆ & in the emptiness, there's a solution just look within yourself for absolution |
Always arriving via their flying saucers and portable spawn points, weren't they? She moved quickly over the hilly terrain, dark clothes a brilliant contrast against the green kelp that swayed from her collar. A clicking beep in her ear announced her lock-on to a nearby spawn point that had just been set up, soon giving way to being open to Octarian radio transmissions if the others had to contact her.
But they knew what they were here for, they all did. If everything went to plan, there wouldn't have to be any talking needed, and that would be fortunate: a lot of the younger soldiers always talked over each other at once, and you could never make anything out.
Stopping at one of the cliffs that comfortably overlooked the pit and its waterways, the cloaked Octoling paused to take in her surroundings, untroubled by the bright searchlights that wandered about below. Her mask clicked and hummed softly as it adjusted to the peculiar lighting, which bounced playfully off of the .96 Gal Deco clutched in her right hand.
"Infernalis present," Carmilla announced softly into the microphone that hung at her left cheek, words directed at the largest of the silvery saucers. It was best that they knew she was here to act as a spotter and overseer, just so all of the other forces could focus a bit more on catching Zapfish.
"Keep your wits about you. All these lights are going to inevitably attract attention, surely an undesired sort."
"Carmilla". As much as she loved her name, all the sweet meanings that came with it, that was something that she had to keep under strict lock and key here. Her identity was very near and dear to her heart, and if any agents learned of it, she could wave goodbye to everything. Her home, her job, the three inklings she took under her wing, and the love of her life.. she would betray, kill, do anything to protect it all.
And so, here, she went strictly by "Infernalis". That was, as far as her every ally here knew, her only name.

Kayla peered over the wall cautiously. She could see the UFO hovering above Piranha Pit, and she squinted to get a better look at the soldiers swiftly leaping out of it. "Ok," she lowered her voice down to a whisper, in case any octarians were nearby, "It looks like most of the soldiers have left the UFO. Does anyone have a plan?"(Ooc: Sheep ivory castell heath kyle caldwell Let's do this!)

| TWO DRIFTERS OFF TO SEE THE WORLD; | CHROM's COMMENTS ― *hacker voice* im in | Green and blue lights illuminated on Ivory's hero suit, and with the other agents, sat slightly outside of Piranha Pit. Despite typically enjoying these types of mission, she could not help but be anxious, pacing back and forth. This was not a solo mission, and she was to lead several of her fellow agents into Piranha Pit, an area supposedly being raided by Octarians. Yuck. Those scumbags never would quit it, would they?
"Okay, roll call-- Sheep, Kyle, Kayla, and Heath-- are you all here?" she asked, "Make sure your headsets are active. ...And that your color is green. We don't need any turf war between us here."
Gripping her hero shot, (the only gun she ever took on these missions, knowing that she'd get it freely repaired by the agency if it broke) she took a moment to look over the fellow Inklings beside her, still worried. Were these the lower ranks? Well, if they were, they better still get things done. She had no time for poor work. This was a serious mission.
"Before we get our plan, what weapons do we have here? Let's begin with that," she started, "And know that there will be no slacking off today. We have no room for error."
Noticing that somebody now was missing after her small speech, Ivory looked at the wall beside them. "...Kayla, please stop doing that. We need to focus on this together." |

[attr="class","landfill-link"] born in a cross-fire hurricane, but it's all right now! [attr="class","landfill-scroll"]Being the front line defense she always was, Jian found herself near the area where the search lights had been set up, patrolling the perimeter and watching for any agent activity. No sooner than the call went out was she one of the first to get to the area, shield and blaster at the ready. She wasn't grabbing zapfish herself: she was there to ensure that the others went about their work with minimal interference.
She had kept her transmissions on a low signal to cut the radio chatter of the other soldiers, but did manage to pick up on the warning issued by Carmilla. "Copy that." She responded quickly before continuing her rounds. If the agents reared their heads, she would be ready for them. | commentary |

[attr="class","landfill-link"] look to the future, shape the future here we go now, on the offense [attr="class","landfill-scroll"]A very faint green glow emitted from Heath's goggles as the night vision activated. While he had planned to scout out the region, younger agents were deployed this time around. Maybe it was because of the same feeling he had covering the less experienced teammates of his squad in turf wars, but this was a mission that carried significant risk. Cover fire was more important in this situation.
"I'm here." He replied to Ivory before double checking his helmet to make sure the set was online, which it was. He didn't mind working with a group, so as long as they knew what they were doing and actually worked as a unified squad and not unthinking individuals. At least one of them appeared to be on point with this. "I've got the Hero Charger." He stole a quick glance at the others to scope out who he was working with, but didn't move from his position next to the others. | commentary |

"Lighten up, Ivory!" Kayla rolled her eyes as she changed her ink colour, "I'm just trying to make sure they don't capture any zapfish while we're planning our moves! Oh weapon, right. Hero shot correct and present!"She waved her shooter in the air, but not high enough for any octarians to see it."A charger, huh?" she directed her attention to the agent who had previously spoken, "That should be a good advantage!"
Kayla turned back to her lookout spot and scanned the nearby area for octarians.(Ooc: Sheep ivory castell kyle caldwell heath plotting time *rubs hands*)

[attr="class","landfill-link"] wake me up when it's all over when i'm wiser and i'm older [attr="class","landfill-scroll"]Fear. Indescribable fear.
Sheep had been called upon by his superiors to tackle this mission, figuring that working alongside other agents would better ease him into the field of battle. While he did work much better in a group, Sheep was still a severely unskilled fighter, and his crippling fear of Octarians would no doubt get in the way of things. He knew for a fact that his presence here would make the situation worse for his comrades, and it would have been much better if he never showed up at all.
And yet...
"H-here... I'm here, n' stuff..." His voice, as quiet as it was, still had that distinct fearful whine to it.
Sheep had been sitting next to his fellow Agents, back pressed firmly against the wall and Hero's Shot wrapped tightly in his trembling arms. He stared straight ahead, already extremely unfocused on the mission at hand. He hadn't once looked upwards to see who he'd been working with yet. All he knew is that they were all about to hate his guts fairly soon.
"Gun-- I got a gun... th-the gun, thing... I use that..." He muttered absently in response to Ivory, mind racing. Sheep was a lousy battler, but he felt as though he was an even lousier aim. He hadn't once touched a shooter weapon since his first team had done a weapon switch for fun; except this was not for fun. This weapon, and all others like it, were meant for fighting; and that was far from Sheep's comfort zone.

[attr="class","landfill-link"] Welp here we go [attr="class","landfill-scroll"]From Kyle's position, he could easily see his other squadmates ducking behind the wall. As this was his first mission, he tried his best to conduct himself in front of the others. For him, this required silently listening to his other teammates as everyone checked in one by one, catching on to how his teammates responded to the woman who clearly showed some superiority over everyone who had gathered here today. He had been wondering day after day when his help would be needed, so as to no longer have to sit around and stress over what extent of trouble he had willingly gotten himself into. After quickly clearing his throat, Kyle spoke in a hushed tone into his headset.
"Uh - here." Kyle having felt he said this too quietly prompted him to clear his throat once more and attempt to speak again. "Uh, Kyle, present. I brought my Splash-o-Matic with me today - I even made sure to bring my suction bombs."
As he spoke, Kyle stared at his equipment, wondering if he should have brought something else. Was it dumb for him to bring a weapon that's better for inking turf? Were suction bombs tactically unsound? In the sense of urgency he felt to rush out and meet his fellow agents he wasn't even paying attention to what he had brought with him. He had just grabbed the trusty gun he typically brought out for a day of turf wars in Inkopolis. He quickly disregarded these thoughts, however, once he assured himself that he would be better off using something he was comfortable with. This helped him remain confident that he was going to be an asset to this team, and (hopefully?) not a detriment. Now he just needed to see this team in action to get a better feel for what he could do.

| is there a hero somewhere?
☆ & in the emptiness, there's a solution just look within yourself for absolution |
The cloaked octoling stood quite still atop the cliffside, merely watching vigilantly for now. Pink-lit goggles adjusted and zoomed constantly as she looked between the groups of soldiers, making sure they were doing their intended jobs, and this was easily done by mere appearance. If the Octarian army had anything, it was consistency in the ranks and roles.
A hubbub stirred down below soon enough, however, and she stirred to closer attention: there had been a spotting of Zapfish! Smaller ones, from what she could pick out in the excited chatter in her ear, but there wasn't anything wrong with that: a couple smaller Zapfish were enough to power a whole kettle, given they were sustained in good health.
Not trying to hide the smile beneath her mask, Carmilla Infernalis steadily made her way down the cliff, firing off bursts of dark fuchsia ink to act as a pathway to climb back up if need be. Pausing briefly to complete the trail, she started towards the edge of the water, darting along one of the hastily-constructed catwalks.
Not directly involved, of course; now that she was on the shore closer to the chaos, a few quick bursts from her .96 constructed another vertical path up the cliffside. She had no need to be involved directly, but a vantage point that overlooked it was far more ideal than where she stood before.

As Kayla continued to scan the area, she noticed a cloaked figure swiftly darting towards the lake. That's weird, I can't see any- She spotted a glint of glowing yellow briefly skimming the water.
"They're going for a zapfish!" she whispered as loud as she could, "We gotta, we gotta go!"

| TWO DRIFTERS OFF TO SEE THE WORLD; | CHROM's COMMENTS ― BOY SHE BOUTTA DO IT ❤ 4 ↩️ 2 | Shit. Not even any time to plan was given to her squad, and already the Octarians were making a move.
"We've got mostly shooters, so it is best for each of us to separate and take out them while they're not looking...Try not to spread too much ink, or they'll know we're here. This is a stealth mission."
She looked at Kyle, slightly disappointed at the weapon choice of his, but eventually turned back. The kid didn't even use a hero weapon, yet he was an agent? What, did they agency run out, or something?
"Heath, I want you to stay on one of the taller points of the Pit and keep an eye over the area. As you have a charger, stay up there, alright? Tell us if you see anything and don't be afraid to shoot."
A gust of air blew though the small area the agents resided, and Ivory knew it was time to go on out. Swooping her hand in a "C'mon!" motion, she began to sneak into the area.
"....Kayla, you go left, and Kyle, you can go right..." she instructed, "Sheep, if you wish, you can follow me into the middle. Otherwise, just go along the back." Ivory knew the latter wasn't prepared, like, at all. So she supposed it wouldn't hurt to take him under her wing. If he wanted, that is.
"Lastly, don't forget to use your headset. Now, let's go." |

[attr="class","landfill-link"] look to the future, Shape the future here we go now, on the offense [attr="class","landfill-scroll"]"Understood." Came the quick reply before Heath set forward to find a vantage point that would get him a better visual on the Octarian defense. If they were going to make their approach, they would need to be smart about it. He needed to get better intel on what force they were looking at.
Moving as quietly as possible, Heath made his way to one of the spiral towers and began his ascent, being careful not to make too much noise or to be noticed. The last thing he needed was his position to be given away, especially since he was the only Charger user the group had. Taking cover behind some crates near the top, he peered out to take a look at the militia's set up.
The perimeter was being patrolled by a few octarians, but one thing in particular stood out to him: the octoling packing a heavy looking shield. Figures they would put their top defense up front. He talked quietly into his headset after hiding behind the crates. "Watch your approach. They've got octarians on the perimeter and an octoling shield trooper is among their ranks." | commentary |
