Kayla is a 14 year old inkling with dark red tentacles. She usually wears her Squid-stitch cap, Zekko hoodie and Black trainers. She loves turf wars, especially ranked battles, and can play for hours with no feeling of boredom creeping over her shoulder.

Kayla was found in a tip when she was three years old. The inkling that found her, a street urchin named Jane, took pity on her and decided to care for her. The two were an inseparable duo, and could often be found scouring garbage cans and hunting for inkberry bushes. However, when Kayla was six, she fell ill with 'Tentivitus', a deadly disease that took over an inkling's tentacle tips, and then used them to build up a huge amount of poison before releasing it into their ink system. Jane knew of a cure, but it was a rare leaf that grew far away from where Kayla lay dying. Jane promised that she would come back within a week with the cure. But she never did. Now that she had to fend for herself, Kayla slowly lost the illness due to all the weather could throw at her. Kayla felt mortified that Jane died for nothing, and the haunting feeling seemed to always loom over her. Until she decided to go to Inkopolis eight years later, where she found a better life and two friends.
