(outfit) ☁ / ☁ / ☁________________________________________
She figured the bus wasn't coming, at least, not for awhile.
Maeve sat under the bus stop with a sullen atmosphere about her. She had been car-less for about a week now, and having to depend on Inkopolis' less than par bus system wasn't exactly doing her any good. And it was only outside of Inkopolis that was bad-- the inner city subway system was one of the better things about the city, honestly-- even she had used it multiple times to get to central Inkopolis from her apartment in the city. But try taking the normal bus system to places like flounder heights or urchin underpass, or any outside place like that-- and, well, good luck. The buses came at an odd schedule time, never on time, and always smelt funny (she never knew what is was, but something inside told her that she didn't wanna know). God, she felt like she was 15 again-- bound to older friends and parents and a lousy bus systems to get her places. It was restricting, annoying-- and in some cases, totally embarrassing. But this is what happens when you let your friends borrow your car for a night-- but, that wasn't an event she was about to, uh, elaborate on.
Adjusting her headphones as mellow music flowed through them, Mae looked around for any indication of a bus zooming through this chilly rain--but she was met with disappointment when she saw a lack of headlights lighting up the road in front of her. Sighing, Maeve slouched back in her chair, hiding her mouth behind the collar of her bright green jacket. She had no idea why she expected anything, or anyone, to be coming at this point. She could always, maybe walk to Inkopolis-- but who knows how long that would take? Besides, it's cold, rainy and she didn't even have an umbrella to protect her head with. The most protection she had were her green rain boots, but even then, that wouldn't be a lot when the rain decided to collect in her shoes. It's happened before, she wouldn't be surprised if it happened again.
Curses-- how long was she supposed to wait out here? Again-- it's cold, slushy-rainy, humid (naturally), and not great weather to be stuck in.
Hopefully something, someone, would get here soon.

Rain, the most dangerous thing, happening? a waste of time, totally. Andy was lucky since he got in his bag a quite big umbrella, the shellphone said something about rain earlier and that made him just put one if it was true. And the best thing, is that he was right! So no more injuries to his body made by the dirty H2O falling from the dull sky.
Anyways, Andy was done with some shopping, since, again he got another place to stay. As an octoling, is not THAT easy to find places to be, even more when shit is happening and most people still see them like the enemy, even since he was done with fighting anymore. All these thought just made Andrew groan a little, lowering his gaze to the wet street. GOD THANK that it still the sun up somewhere, because bothering himself with not being able to see more than the lights from the buildings near is not the most pleasant thing, and not being able to see any possible bus to stop and pay for going home is just another problem!
Letting out a sigh, Andy began to walk a bit more hurried, since maybe stuff may happen? someone robbing you? who knows. All this mess in Andy's head just made up a headache, wow...
This is a mess, there's not public traffic? What the hell, andy thinks, grinding more his umbrella with one of his hands, his nerves getting the worst of him, and fear also rising. What the hell can happen if a lone octoling is walking there? And no spawn points if you even get shot?

Seriously? That was one of Kazoo's least favorite messages for her phone to light up with, besides "pizza night's been canceled". She'd play in the rain if she damn pleased!
Well, either way, here she was, all dressed up with nowhere to go. The next bus she could catch home wouldn't be back for awhile, so.. maybe she could argue her way into going to crash in the ground-floor lobby...
No umbrella, though. That kind of sucked. At least her hat was the next best thing, and she was old enough to not worry too much about dissolving.
Having spent the last half hour sitting under the grates up top, Kazoo idly looked out over the cityscape of apartments, her head held boredly in her hands. Wait, was someone else out there, too? She could've sworn she had seen a flicker of movement and color down below.
It was a lot better than just sitting here and browsing an extremely slow internet.
Chewing her lip a little, she rose to her feet, stretching her arms out behind her with a satisfactory grunt, before starting down towards the bus stop. A quick hop down that one ledge and she was comfortably on her way -- it would've been a nuisance if she decided to play charger and perch up top for the sake of getting a good view.
Thoughtful as she was, Kazoo's face immediately lit up with curiosity when she noticed someone out in the rain, her magenta eyes going wide.
An octoling? Out here?
She wasn't sure whether to be cautious or friendly, but.. he didn't look like a soldier to her, none of the armor or goggles. It was hard not to be sympathetic on second glance, especially to a worried expression like that: having a fish-out-of-water octoling roommate sure helped with those feelings.
Hesitating a moment as she cleared her throat, she gave the kid a big smile.
Even if it was just a few words of reassurance, or keeping an eye out to make sure he didn't get into trouble, Kazoo couldn't help but feel concerned.
(It was funny, too, because it was usually her who was one of the little sisters back home, being the second-youngest of five.)

''...!!'' Andrew jumped a bit for the unexpected ask, coming out of nowhere, making him finally look up for a moment to see in the distance an inkling. Scary.... i guess? Better respond... Andy was clearly not lost, just nervous and impatient. With a small sigh to relieve his nerves, he spoke. '' Nah... Am just a lil' nervous out here, ya' know. No traffic, almost no light- '' Said, one his hands going to his pockets of his hoodie, grinding closer his umbrella.
'' yo... Water ya' doing here? '' Still... As he doesn't WHO is she and what she wants, he can clearly be a bit scared, more when not a LOT of people are used to some renegade octoling being out there. At least... He is more of a pacifist than his mess of a brother... What the hell is he doing?
Waiting for a response from the inkling, he lifted up his phone, seeing if there's a call or somefin, at least any signal of life... phhthh. There's nothing. God damnit oolin, that's how you treat your brother, huh? Andy gave out a little groan to himself.

Aw, this poor kid. He seemed scared out of his wits.. or something. Definitely jumpy and ready to run away on a second's notice, so Kazoo was quick to start on the reassuring front. Whether or not she was good at it, or if it'd be successful, she wasn't really sure, but she'd definitely at least try something.
Maybe to people who weren't often here, at least. But even then, it wasn't exactly comfortable to be standing alone in the middle of a match, because it tended to mean trouble.
Managing a sheepish grin, Kazoo took the moment to divert her attention elsewhere as the octoling started to check his phone. She really did want to try and strike up a conversation or something, because there wasn't much else to do! But it was fine, whatever it was. At least she could watch that party that someone was having over there in their apartment-- it was made pretty clear in the windows and the shadows it cast. (Not her business, but whatever.)

[break] Maeve
And i know whats on your mind God knows i put it there
[attr="class","scroll-light"]
The bright blue inkling hadn't been paying attention to the other two on the other side of the road. If anything, she'd begun to doze off, thinking about the multiple mundane things she'd have to consider when she got home. What would she and Selene decide on for dinner that night? Did the two of them make enough money for their apartments rent this month? Would she have to go shopping for food or toiletries on her way home? How charged was her phone right now? Should she call Selene and see if she was ok? Had she gotten any mission updates or requests while she was gone?
Mae would have to agree, she was definitely a worrier. Especially when it came to her younger sibling. sure, she knew how well Selene could hold for herself, but they had been bound since they were young-- it was hard not to worry now that they had been living on their own. Even if their parents (well off as they were) insisted on helping them out with living expenses, the two normally made enough through Turf Wars and Mae's side job as a "team mate for hire" to get by-- and then some-- and would refuse to take money from them otherwise
Still, she was a worrier after all, so worry she would.
All of that, among other things, swirled through her mind as the music flowing from her headphones blocked out any of the outside white noise, and with the mix of medium-to light rain ever continuing on in the background, it wasn't long until Maeve actually ended up falling asleep on that bench, waiting for a bus that felt like it would never come.
I'm like half tempted to let you guys go at it and see what happens ngl[newclass=".scroll-light"]max-height:278px;overflow:auto;padding:0px 7px;[/newclass] [newclass=.scroll-light::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:vertical]height:10px; border:2px solid #f4eabf ; background-color:#6c6c6c;[/newclass] [newclass=.scroll-light::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:horizontal]background-color:#e3e3e3; border:2px solid #e3e3e3;[/newclass] [newclass=.scroll-light::-webkit-scrollbar]width:11px; height:5px;background-color:#6c6c6c; border:5px solid #e3e3e3;[/newclass] [newclass=".scroll-light2"]padding:0px 5px;text-align:justify;max-height:84.5px;overflow:auto;[/newclass] [newclass=.scroll-light2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:vertical]height:10px; border:2px solid #e3e3e3; background-color:#6c6c6c;[/newclass] [newclass=.scroll-light2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:horizontal]background-color:#e3e3e3; border:2px solid #e3e3e3;[/newclass] [newclass=.scroll-light2::-webkit-scrollbar]width:11px; height:5px;background-color:#6c6c6c; border:5px solid #e3e3e3;[/newclass] strawberrypinku [/div][/quote]

'' I see. I heard about that turf war. But i came here just for some food.'' Said the octoling with a tired sigh. '' Had not rly good luck tho. '' with a laugh, he just looked at the side, saving his phone in one of his pockets of his hoodie.
'' ya' should go and take a taxi, i see no bus coming here for a long time. '' scratching a bit the side of his face, the boy looked around the street again, but nothing. No bus coming. What the hell?
To be honest this is pretty rare, normally there are a lot of buses coming and going here, what's with this? just some cars with jellies going and leaving the place. Again a bit of silence is invading Andy's mind, his eyes looking around for ANY hope to leave and go home. Melting thanks to the rain would not be pleasant and it takes his nerves getting somewhat wet on his octoling boots. His eyes suddenly catches another thing at the other side of the street. A sky blue inkling... And really familiar, but the rain and the dark doesn't help a lot. His curiosity just drags him to go there, but he has to go home, and Andy just stays there, shifting his gaze to Kazoo. He can still feel nervous anyways of this person, who knows if they can take him as a treat just because.... You know. And he doesn't really wants to get into a fight today for a useless reason.

[nospaces]
| loving every heartache, [break] revel in every twist and turn here's my confession,[break] I don't bow to authority;[break] right and wrong are my left & right |
[attr="class","robot3"] [attr="class","robot"] "The food here's all right," Kazoo commented with a shrug.[break] "I know there's a pretty okay diner about fifteen minutes east-ish.." [break][break] To be fair, that didn't sound like a really bad idea right about now. The last time she ate was before she left, and most of the time, lunch was something you fixed yourself in the household. [break][break] "Taxi? Eehh.. I dunno if I've got enough to get me home, I'm about an hour and a half away. If the bus doesn't swing around for another two hours, I might just beep my roomies to come and get me." [break][break] She shrugged without too much worry, taking the second to take her Slosher and hook it to a loop on her sash; it wasn't heavy or anything, but it was annoying to constantly carry around underarm when it wasn't a turf war or an uncomfortable situation. [break][break] "... Y'know, if you don't want to stand out in the rain, there's a bus stop just over there." [break][break] The kid would probably be fine, whatever he did, as long as he didn't attract any bad attention. She'd keep an eye out for him just in case, since even though this wasn't necessarily a bad part of town, you never knew where people could get snippy. [break][break] Reaching up to adjust her hat, Kazoo started off towards the bus stop, looking back at Andrew once before continuing through the rain. It was better than trying to shelter under the pretty minimal grates and overhangs that the apartments had to them, anyways, and it meant a passable place to sit. Maybe she could try and tap into an internet signal and check the news..
