EDIT: No longer accepting new participants, please and thank you! A warm afternoon sunlight bathed the camp grounds and lake, casting colorful reflections from the lake's smooth surface onto the surrounding banks. Insects humming, the sound of water gently lapping against rocks, and the smell of pine were some of the simple things that were brought together beautifully at Camp Triggerfish. Who wouldn't want to come out here to get away from all the noise of the city now and then? However, not many people were here at the moment, and the quiet tranquility that filled the empty space was nice too. Kicking a rock aside with a muffled thud, Vet walked slowly along the lakeside, watching the previously kicked rock roll into the lake and make a satisfying splash. The noise echoed in the large clearing for a moment before dispersing, prompting Vet to make another splash to fill the silence. Feeling their Tri-Slosher softly hitting their thigh as another rock was sent for a swim, they felt tempted to fill their bucket with water, just... because. Maybe they could pour it on something later? Impulse had taken over, and they were already stooping down to reach the water. They focused on making sure they didn't slip into the lake and going for an unwanted dip while leaning dangerously close to the waters surface.
It was hard getting all three slots on the slosher to fill with water, but they managed. Shifting their weight onto the back of their heels, they softly dropped onto the dirt, careful not to spill their lake water. Looking into their bucket, and, seeing how murky and dirty the water was, Vet suddenly realized why they rarely saw anyone swimming in the lake. Now they were going to have to deep clean their Tri-Slosher when they got home.
"Yippie." They said with a sigh, not looking forward to having to do more chores because of their own stupidity.

Man, without a Turf War going on, Camp Triggerfish was... boring. At least, during the winter months. No one was ever around - but that had its pros and its cons. Sure, it was annoying to never get to hang out with anyone here, but there were no adults, no camp counselors, no one to force you to abide the rules. And, of course, that just meant you could do anything you wanted. Including, apparently, filling your Turf weapon with pointless water. The only person around today was the single Turquoise Inkling by the waters. Ruining their weapon. Domino was slow as she approached them, watching with a mixture of interest and amusement, until they finally spoke. Someone realized the error of their ways. That's nice. "You know ink doesn't mix well with water, right?" She spoke slowly, a crooked grin on her face. Brushing her hands behind her back, Domino watched with anticipation. "Kinda a dumb idea, doncha think?"

Turning to face whoever it was that had just spoke, Vet felt their cheeks heat up. Not only had they just done something foolish, but someone else had seen them do it. The witness in question was an interesting looking inkling - her white tentacles contrasting brightly with the dark green pine trees behind her. Vet gave her a sheepish smile, and looked down at their slosher again.
"I, uh - haha - yeah, not sure what I was trying to accomplish." They tugged at the bottom of their vest, still feeling embarrassed. Now that the water was in the slosher, they didn't know if they should put it back into the lake or not. It would probably cause more damage the longer it was in there, but Vet didn't want to go through all the trouble of getting it in there just to pour it back out five seconds later. If push comes to shove, they could always just buy a new Tri-Slosher, right?
"Maybe I could pour it on some jerk later..." Vet trailed off, looking back up at the white inkling, not sure if she was still listening or even cared. Domino Inferna is so cool! im very excited to get to rp with her!

I t seemed that an onlooker had arrived to the spot of the conversation. With an imperturbable-looking expression, the violet-colored Inkling with neatly parted hair and a pair of glasses approached the lakeside, carrying his trusty Splatterscope, and a backpack full of books and some drinks to consume while reading. He had originally planned to go for an amble to the lake at Camp Triggerfish, and read some books he checked out by the lakeside that day, instead of reading them in his room as usual, since he found it too boisterous to focus in days like this. "O h," he muttered, automatically. There were two other people there before him, one with turquoise tentacles and one with silvery-white ones, and they were having conversation. "H ello there," he approaches them while reminding himself to be as friendly as he can possibly be, "what brings you here, and what are you doing with that Slosher?"

Domino caught sight of the embarrassment, her grin growing sympathetic. They weren't the only one who made stupid decisions on a whim. Well, they might be the only one to do such a thing to their weapon, but it was still forgivable enough. Brushing her tentacles behind her ear, Domino stood straight once more, folding her arms over her chest.
Pouring nasty water on a jerk? Hell yeah, Domino could for sure get in on that. Her grin widening, the inkling nodded. "That's the spirit!" If you fuck up, just make sure someone else deals with it instead! Make someone else suffer.
Up-turned ears perking at the sound of a new arrival, Domino glanced towards Mora. Examining the Inkling, she nodded a hello, before taking notice of his bag full of - eugh - books. Was this one of those nerds who read for fun? Tilting her head to the side, she gave as friendly a smile as she could manage. "'Sup." paint.

Seeing the other inkling join the conversation, Vet hopped up from the ground, tired of literally being looked down upon. Brushing dirt off their butt briskly, Vet looked between the white inkling and the purple one, not sure what to say next. The purple inkling looked just as surprised as Vet was to find other visitors on the campgrounds, and even more surprised over what Vet had just done. Looking back down at their Tri-Slosher, the disgusting greenish brown water made them shudder inwardly, hate to be on the receiving end of this slosher's attacks, they thought sourly.
"I, kinda, filled my slosher with the lakewater." Vet answered the purple inklings question, not wanting to leave him confused. They slowly held up the slosher, giving the two onlookers a chance to see the gross mess inside of it."It'll probably still work once I clean it out, but uh - yeah, don't do what I did." Worst example for taking care of your weaponry - right here everybody!

[nospaces] "D on't worry, I won't," snarks Seymour after having a look-see at the soiled bucket, but immediately goes back to being polite. "What brings you here today? I thought I'd go away from home, because it's too noisy for me to read back there. Oh, my name is Seymour, by the way. You could call me Mora." S eymour wipes the mud off of a suitable-looking boulder with his hand, before sitting right down on it and unpacking his backpack, revealing its contents: five books, three of them paperbacks, one of them hardcover, and the last of them an Octoling-Inkling dictionary; a two-liter bottle of (sugarless) green tea, as well as some paper cups; and finally, a bag of his favorite chips, big enough to share.

I hope y'all don't mind me jumping in here
The quiet air of Camp Triggerfish was relaxing as usual. Tae quietly hummed a cheery tune as he walked the lake's shoreline, Octoshot in hand. In the distance, he could see three inklings by the water. He briefly wondered if he should turn around before deciding against it and picked up his walking pace.
"Hey," he greeted, "Usually I don't see other inklings here this time of year." He glanced at the Turquoise Inkling's trislosher and for a moment he visibly cringed. "Why would you put water in a weapon? I'd understand if it was a regular bucket, but..." he trailed off.

Scrunching up her face at the sight of the water in the slosher... eugh. Domino instinctively stuck out her tongue, disgust plainly written on her face. Thank the lord Domino didn't use a weapon that had a container. She knew full well that this is the type of thing she'd do too, and it's best to keep temptation at bay.
"It might work, but it won't be nice to mix that with all the inks." Tilting her head to the side, Domino leaned closer to get a better look at the Slosher. "I betcha you're going to have lake residue in that thing for months!" Hmm... it was probably a bad idea to mention that she'd do the same, even after seeing this. If Domino was given a bucket weapon anytime soon, she wanted to see what would happen if she did this. Stupid idea or not.
Glancing Seymour's way, the vampire inkling raised an eyebrow. He wiped mud off his hand on a rock... and then sat on the rock? Well, she supposed his pants weren't that fashionable anyways - she, on the other hand, looked way too good to muddy her outfit up! (Even though it was tackier than fashionable.)
"I'm, uh, Domino." She was totally judging him. Who brings books to a place for relaxing... A nerd, that's who. "I'm just here because, you know, I can I guess." Glancing towards yet another newcomer, she lifted her hand up in greetings. "'Ey." Oh boy, her awkward was starting to show, wasn't it. paint.

(I really like this thread, so I hope you don't mind me coming in...)
Kayla liked coming to Camp Triggerfish just before sunset. The light would reflect on the water and make the most beautiful image in the lake water. Plus there were tons of cool lookout posts and she liked to spy on passing inklings or just gaze at the distant silhouette of Inkopolis. She also went for the peace and tranquility of the place. Sure, every now and then an inkling other than her would be there, but most days she was alone, the way she liked it. She sometimes even brought her trusty Splattershot Jr and practised turf wars. However, on that particular evening, four inklings were there, which had never happened to Kayla before. Luckily she had brought her Splattershot Jr with her, and even though it was empty, the other inklings didn't know that. As she got closer, though, she saw that three of the inklings were looking at the fourth inkling's Tri-slosher, which looked murky. Suddenly Kayla realised what was in it; Lake water! I never thought of doing that before. It's such a cool idea! Having water in the weapons, and then activating the respawn pads and having a water fight, and whoever splatted the most opponents wins! Although there would be no separation between the colours, so it would be a little hectic...even better! Kayla loved the idea, so she decided to ask the inkling how the brilliant idea had come to them.
"Hey! Where did you get the awesome idea of filling your weapon with water?"

Closing their eyes and bringing their slosher back to their side, Vet took a deep breath and tried to keep themself from screaming. How many people were just walking around Triggerfish? Why were they all so curious? Why did they feel the need to come over to Vet and engage in a very unnecessary conversation? Why did they all care so much about their stupid slosher full of gross water? Vet desperately wanted to ask - or scream - these questions, but they held their tongue, and instead silently counted to five.
"Okay, okay," Vet's voice was edging into a defensive tone. "My name is Vet, and yes, I just filled my bucket with lake water and now it is probably ruined forever. It isn't really that awesome," glancing at the red inkling, Vet continued, "at least, not for me, I think." Vet felt somewhat envious of Domino's bluntness earlier - she was probably right about the residue thing.
Desperate for a subject change that wouldn't be at the expense of Vet's pride, they looked around for something to latch onto. "What brings you guys to Camp Triggerfish anyway?" Domino Inferna Seymour (Mora) Tae Kayla thank u all for joining me! and dw about it domino : v reminder for the new posters: pls dont go out of the post order! but just talk to me if u wanna switch things up!

[nospaces] [googlefont=Roboto] But if you only have love for your own race[break] Then you only leave space to discriminate Once Seymour settled down on the boulder, he took a look around to see the new arrivals. Ho, this was quite the party indeed! He unpacked an entire stack of 16 paper cups, showing that he was willing to share his big bottle of tea with the others. "For me, I came here to relax and read a book," replied Seymour, shifting his attention to Vet. "My house is too noisy for me to read today. Though, I could always socialize, now that we're already in a conversation." With that, Seymour opened the bag of chips at the back — It wasn't anything too fancy, just lightly flavored with sea salt — so that anyone could stick their hand in and take it out easily. "Help yourself. You can call me Mora, by the way," he restated for the two recent additions. He then took one of the many books that he toted there. The text in the front cover was written in some foreign language. I'M SO SORRY I FORGOT TO REPLY AGH
Vet, huh? What an odd name."I like coming here to relax. Usually I don't see any other Inklings here. Then again I only come here once every two weeks or so." Tae shrugged, "For all I know, this place could be packed full on the days I'm not here. "
Tae looked away from Vet and at Seymour. 16 cups was a bit much to bring with you when you're just going out to the lake for some reading. Unless you weren't reusing the cups, that is. "Thanks Mora," he said as he reached for a cup. "What are you reading anyways? I've never seen that language before"

It was kind of unsettling to Domino, seeing all these inklings so ready to chill with people they've never met before. It was pretty cool, yeah, but... still kind of freaky. Especially now that there was another inkling, though, Domino began to feel more and more uneasy.
Man, she needed to learn how to chill. Or, chill more than she already did. Rubbing her arms, the vampire inkling studied her new company. Piping up, kind of dubious to the matter, Domino tilted her head, "Why would you come here to read? Also, like, readin' and socializing don't go well together."
He's not only a nerd, but he's a nerd who made no sense! She didn't even think those existed. She... didn't want to be rude though. Glancing towards Vet, Domino figured she should show some kindness. "Ya know, if you can't fix your slosher that well, you could always just grind for some cash with a different weapon. I have a few spares if you need one, and hopefully Tri-Sloshers aren't too expensive."

"So what brings you guys to Camp Triggerfish, anyway?""Ah, nothing really. I just like to do stuff," Kayla sat down on one of the wooden poles, "I usually bring my Splattershot Jr and practise turf wars. One of my friends made a formula that, when mixed with ink, makes it harmless. She also made me a few spongey-dummies, so yeah, I use them to practise. Although, sometimes I just bring my shooter for nothing at all. Kinda weird, but still."Kayla got up to take a few crisps, but she realised that she had met the purple inkling before. "Hey, you're that boy from LoChan! Do you remember me?"She took the crisps that she had wanted, and sat back down. "Anyway, I haven't seen the rest of you before. Are you in squads, or do you just play with random people, or..."Kayla trailed off, having nothing else to say. (OOC: Next; vet Seymour (Mora) Tae Domino Inferna; This is getting good...)
