Splatswap is an AU, where instead of the Inklings we replace them with Octarians and vise-versa. Basically everything in-game is the same aside from a few things:
-All shopkeepers, NPCs and the rest of the races remained, including Sheldon, since this is a race swap AU, not a "whoever wins the Great Turf War" AU.
-Despite having a few of those tentacle-like Octarians within the race, Octarians are generally called Octolings.
-Inklings developed sub-races and are known as Inktarians. And for the race names... almost identical to the current names of Octarian enemies in-game, but instead of "Octo" it's either "Squid" or "Ink". As for bosses: Squidstomp, Inknozzel, Inkwhirl, Squidmaw, DJ Cuttlefish
-Agent 3 is primarily purple instead of yellow (color lock) and the Inktarians are primarily yellow. The leader is Cap'n Octavio and the agents are, well, the Octo Bros, Tako and Yaki
-Inkopolis is now Octopolis and Octo Valley is Squid Valley.
-The rise of Octo bros Tako and Yaki. You decide the headcannons.
-Swap any weapon and gear names from "Squid" to "Octo" (e.g. Squid Beakon to Octo Beaken) or from "Octo" to "Squid" (e.g. Octogoggles to Squidgoggles)
-Musics are created from the same bands, the instrumentals are the same but the notes are reversed versions of current in-game music. Squid Valley's musics are created by Magenta Inktober.
If this AU doesn't sound interesting, here's how it works: All Octoling/Octarian OCs will act like Inklings and all Inkling OCs will act like Octarians!
Also if I miss anything, you'll decide the head cannons! Now let's start this AU!
