• SOME REMINDERS!
We've been open for about a week now, and things are starting to calm down! With a whole lot of you new folks coming in from Tumblr, it seems like everyone's doing a great job getting used to the way things work around here! We've noticed some confusion happening in the past few days, so I'm here to try to help demystify some of the Proboards forum norms!
SITE INFORMATION: Everyone's really excited to get involved and start role playing, and that's awesome! But we've also noticed that a lot of folks haven't read up on the information, which is a really important step in keeping things running smoothly! Everyone has their own Splatoon headcanons and ideas regarding the world and species inhabiting it, but please make sure you thoroughly read up on everything listed here!
This is where we've established Ink'd canon, and it differs in some ways from Splatoon canon, so it's important to keep these things in mind for continuity's sake. It should also answer a lot of the big questions we've seen asked multiple times around the site! In general, always be sure to read everything!
ADVERTISEMENTS: We've got quite a few folks reporting advertisements from other role play sites recently, and I understand the confusion - but don't worry! We welcome advertisements from forums like ours! Plug boards (or Advertisement Boards) are exclusively reserved for ads from other role play sites, so it's perfectly normal to see lots of ads coming in from other forums! As long as there's nothing graphic or upsetting about an advertisement, it's alright to leave them be. We appreciate your concern and efforts to keep Ink'd clean!
OPEN/TAGGED THREADS: You've all been doing a great job making this distinction yourselves, but here are some nifty tricks when creating/joining new threads. If you want a thread to involve specific people only, simply tagging desired participants like so "@username" in the first post of your thread will send the mentioned account a notification, letting them know they were posted for! Tagging people is an easy way to let others know a thread isn't open - unless, of course, you mention that you'd like more participants! Be sure not to join a tagged thread unless it's mentioned somewhere that it's also open!
THE TAGBOX: A lot of you have already figured this out, but the Tagbox down at the bottom of the site can be used for a whole bunch of things! Use it to tell someone when you've posted for them, made an open thread, plotter, wanted ad or anything of the like!
