Because of Vet's usual company - children - they tend to come off as immature and sometimes annoying to those who are older then them. And its with how you deal with this annoyance that lets Vet decide if they want to be your friend or not. If you start treating them like a child who needs help to stop being so annoying, they will instantly ignore anything you have to say. They hate condescending teenagers and adults, and have a harder time talking to older people because of this. But, on the other hand, if you don't find Vet annoying, or at least put up with it because you want to hear what they have to say, they'll definitely warm up to you in time. So just keep being patient with them and they'll come to consider you a friend in no time!

And the only way to get lower then that is to insult their strategies or any of the children they're friends with. If you're younger then them, they instinctively will view you in a more positive light, even if you don't care about turf wars. So if you're a little evil brat, then you'll be much more likely to break Vet's heart because they already don't trust adults.
