Cephy sighed as she slumped onto a bench. After receiving some "tips," as Chris insists that they are, he's encouraged her to try and see if she could flirt with someone at the mall. The thing is, the pink hybrid would rather hole herself back up in her apartment and play games. She was too shy to approach people most times, and approaching attractive people? Yeah, there's a bigger chance of her choking on a brick than that happening. Her twin really needs to stop butting into her business in finding a partner.
"Geez, this is nothin' but a waste of time. Stupid brother..."

Man, this week has been a thing. Not a good thing, but a thing none the less. Why has it been a thing? ... People need to learn to not question a lady. Point was, it's been stressful to the point where she wanted to complain about it in her head. So, there.
The mall was pretty busy today, even the weird, nerdy, never-loved-before stores were getting business. Domino wasn't all too sure as to why she bothered coming here today, but hey! She bought a cute accessory, so it wasn't all that bad. Flopping down on a bench, right next to the pink-inked squid, the inkling took out her phone and scrolled through the apps. Why not, right? Maybe she had a cool game she forgot about. Tucking the small bag close to her side, Domino paid little attention to the other, despite being obnoxiously close to her. At least I have nothing, nothing to tie me down, not even someone Feeling something brush against her, Cephy flinched. What- oh. Someone actually took up the space next to her on the bench; and a pretty adorable Inkling at that. Okay, maybe it wouldn't hurt to try with her...? "Um... so, nice weather out huh? Been pretty nice, considering it's winter."
Seriously? The fact that your nerves are slightly frazzled is somewhat understandable, but starting it off with that weather talk? At this rate, it's bound to go downhill. Possibly, depending on this stranger's reaction.  | commentary |

Kate was sitting on the bench behind them, listening to the whole conversation. She was bursting to say something, but she didn't want to butt into a strangers conversation so she just sat there, pretending she was dawdling on her Isquid. Finally she burst out "Your brother's playing on you, why don't you get him back for it? ".

Had she known that Cephy was pathetically trying to flirt with her, Domino would have gladly flirted back. But... weather? Really? She figured nothing of the conversation, scrolling into an app that looked kind of entertaining. Half-heartedly, Domino nodded, not looking up from her phone.
"Yeah, it's not cold and stuff." Tapping aggressively at her phone, Domino paid even more little attention to the inkling behind them. Kind of hard to pay attention when you have no idea what's going on - oh well! Cephy , Kate • 0000 words • cephy needs srs help. paint. |

Kate noticed no one was paying attention to her, so she spoke a little louder and repeated the last sentence with a look of anger (or was it jealousy? ). Without knowing that the two figures on the other bench were still ignoring her, she tried to calm herself down by taking big, long breaths. When she had finally reached a good level of calmness, she looked down, onto the other bench. When she saw the SquidPhone that Domino had, she immediately shouted out in a small, hollow voice, "You've got the latest SquidPhone!!!!". The inside of Kate wanted to ask so many questions. Kate peered at all of the apps on Domino's SquidPhone. She was bursting to say several things at once, but she didn't say a word because she couldn't figure out which question to ask first. Slowly, Kate calmed herself down (again) and said, "I guess you must be pretty cool if you have the newest SquidPhone ........ yeah". "Can we hang out some time?" as Kate awaited an answer she slowly started saying ".......I do gymnastics and I often play Squad Battle so maybe we could make a group or.........." Kate smiled like she had stepped into a lake of icing, and did not stop smiling until she realised that no one was answering her yet again, "Well, what would you like to do?± If you don't do gymnastics or you don't like Squad Battle, just say so!" she rashly burst out, immediately regretting it. Suddenly remembering what she had been dragged into this endless conversation with herself for, she turned to the pink inkling and asked, in a more polite tone, "So...who did you try to flirt with?" |
